Study in the USA from Brazil

How Brazilian students study in the USA

1. 1Find an accredited U.S. school that enrolls F-1 visa students — search by sport, subjects, location, and budget.
2. 2Connect with a sending organization in Brazil that works with that school — or apply directly if it's a boarding school or arranges housing itself.
3. 3Your sending organization (or the school) helps arrange your host family, local coordinator, and on-the-ground support.
4. 4Receive your Form I-20, apply for your F-1 student visa, and begin your studies in the United States.

Studying in the USA from Brazil — FAQ

How do students from Brazil study in the USA on an F-1 visa?

A Brazilian student chooses an SEVP-certified U.S. school, is accepted and issued a Form I-20, applies for an F-1 student visa at the U.S. embassy or consulate, and is matched with a host family and local coordinator before traveling to begin studies.

How much does it cost for a Brazilian student to attend a U.S. high school?

Cost varies by school, region, and program. XportEdu shows the full net price for each placement — tuition plus host-family, coordinator, and program fees — so families in Brazil can compare the real all-in cost up front.

Do Brazilian students need to speak English to study in the USA?

Each school sets its own English requirements. Many offer ESL or English-support programs for international students, and school profiles list any required English level so Brazilian families can find the right fit.

Can a Brazilian student live with an American host family?

Yes. Most F-1 high-school students from Brazil live with a screened American host family arranged and supervised by a local coordinator — a core part of the U.S. study-abroad experience.
